I sit here typing with a heavy heart, the things I’ve seen and heard the past few weeks. It really breaks my heart to see how people go after other people, following them blindly into the wilderness. They have so much dedication and perseverance to go after one person but when it comes to following Jesus it just becomes a Sunday thing for an hour or two.
People only acknowledge Jesus when things are going bad and then they have the courage to blame Him for what’s going wrong in their life. They are the main cause for their own destruction not Jesus. I’ve heard it all, “Why can’t I find a good guy? They all seem to be after one thing.” Well madam, it is simple, what are you portraying to them? What is your spirit showing them? Are you too friendly with every guy you meet? I’m not saying that everyone is doing this I’m just saying how are you towards the opposite sex? Who do you follow? The guy or are you only concerned with the path you are walking with Jesus? When you follow Jesus, the rest will fall in place.
“I’m in such a bad place, I can’t seem to get over my drinking habits.” Who is the ruler of your life? Alcohol or God? I’m going to give you one verse that sums up any addiction or temptation. “No temptation [regardless of its source] has overtaken or enticed you that is not common to human experience [nor is any temptation unusual or beyond human resistance]; but God is faithful [to His word–He is compassionate and trustworthy], and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability [to resist], but along with the temptation He [has in the past and is now and] will [always] provide the way out as well, so that you will be able to endure it [without yielding, and will overcome temptation with joy].” – 1 CORINTHIANS 10:13 AMP
Remember one thing, NOTHING is impossible for God, finding a husband or wife, buying a house or maybe even starting your own business. Overcoming ANY addiction, getting out of your financial problems. God is in control, just let Him do what He does best, take care of you! He loves you and wants the best for you. He knows what you need. “For the [pagan] Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; [but do not worry,] for your heavenly Father knows that you need them.” – MATTHEW 6:32 AMP
Stop trying to be someone that you are not, stop following the crowd or trend. God made you the way you are for a purpose. Don’t miss your calling because you were trying to go after someone else’s calling. Let go and let God! “and My people, who are called by My Name, humble themselves, and pray and seek (crave, require as a necessity) My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear [them] from heaven, and forgive their sin and heal their land.” – 2 CHRONICLES 7:14 AMP
