A few weeks ago, I kept hearing the word Esther Anointing, it got to a point where I decided to go and do a search on it. Now what I’m about to tell you literally changed my view on Esther.
I came across very interesting views on Esther but this really blew me away. During the preparation process the candidates were treated to six months with oil of myrrh (which can be seen as the Holy Spirit), and six months with sweet odours, (which can be seen as Jesus) and with other things for the purifying of the women; (Esther 2:12 (KJV)
We often go through seasons where it feels like we entered the battleground and it feels like we are left to fend for ourselves but, in fact it is God busy preparing us for our next season or promise. Esther just had the opportunity to enter a royal battleground that was a lot more glamorous than ours of course.
Esther found favour with Hegai, the keeper of the women. He gave her everything she would need for purification and moved her to the best place of the house of the women. (Esther 2:9) Hegai showed Esther what was pleasing to the king. Hegai can be seen as the Holy Spirit moving. The Holy Spirit guides us in everything we do and it is always for our good. God won’t bless us with something that won’t be for our good and God is also a giver of good gifts.
When it was time for Esther to come before the king and she obtained grace and favour, he loved her above all the other women. (Esther 2:17) He placed the royal crown on her head, this can be seen as us finding favour with God and if you find favour with God you will find favour with men. (Proverbs 3:4)
The lesson we learn here is that we need to have a good foundation, prepare our foundation according to God’s Word. Let the Holy Spirit teach and show us the way that is pleasing to the Lord. Don’t listen to man and learn the ways of the world, listen to the Holy Spirit. Esther stood out because she was set apart through her way of living and obedience to God.
Today I want to challenge you with something different, when you are getting ready for work or whatever occasion, look at the WAY you get ready. What are you dressed in and what do you put on your skin and face. Ask yourself WHY you dressed the way you did and why you decided on a certain makeup look.
Then stand back and take a good look at yourself in the mirror.
Write down the first 5 words that come to you as you look at yourself in the mirror.
Then go and google those 5 words and see if you fit the description. Once you have done that go and look up in the Bible what God says about those 5 words.
This is a very long challenge but I pray that God will reveal to you what He thinks about you. Show you what He sees and not what the world sees. It is time that we step into our positions as daughters of the King.
